“August 14, 1947” might seem just an Independence Day to some, but the reality behind this day was far much bigger. A day when one out of two ideological states was formed on the face of this earth. “Pakistan” was not merely a piece of land our forefathers were striving for. Our mothers were not abused for a country. Rather it was a belief. It was an ideology. An ideology that “Pakistan means ‘There is no God but Allah” and sovereignty belongs to Allah only. Our forefathers believed that Pakistan would be a place where Islam will dominate. Little they knew about the betrayal done with them.
Democracy was gifted to them in a beautiful wrapping of Islam. An independent country was formed, but the ideology implemented was “Capitalism” not “Islam”. A system was given in which the true capitalists i.e. Parliamentarians are enjoying the sovereignty and freedom in true essence. Freedom of speech, freedom of possession and freedom above law. It is time when we must realize that only Islamic system can solve all our problems. Justice, prosperity and peace can only be attained when Islam is implemented in totality liberate the oppressed and bring tranquility.
